About

Starting your own business and picking the right niche in no time

The case competition features a unique and challenging opportunity to solve a real-world business challenge involving Pfizer pharmaceutical products. Teams will be judged by Pfizer executives whose work is directly related to the case topic.


Teams of 3 to 5 members are encouraged to apply. All team members must be graduate students with at least 1 enrolled in a full-time MBA program (sole, dual, or joint program). Part-time students are welcome to apply. More than one team from each school is allowed to submit an application. Up to 10 teams will be selected to compete. $10,000 worth of prizes and your chance to impress top Pfizer executives are on the line! First place will take home $5,000, second place $3,000, and third place $2,000.

Registration and Breakfast at Carey

Sign in and get some breakfast and coffee in preparation for the big day. 

Make sure to get your competition packet filled with important info and sweet Carey and Pfizer swag.

8:30-9:00 am

Welcome and Introductions

On behalf of The Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, it is a pleasure to welcome you to Baltimore!

We look forward to hearing your innovative proposals.

9:00-12:00 pM

Preliminary Presentation Round

Let the Presentations Begin! The teams will be split up into two groups presenting for three Pfizer Executive judges.

You will have 20 minutes to present your project proposal. The judges then have 10 minutes to ask questions.

During the time you are not presenting you can use a reserved study room for last minute preparations.

12:00-12:30 pm

Judges Deliberation and Lunch

The first round is over. You can relax.

We know you're hungry from all those awesome ideas you were pitching, so grab some lunch on us.

12:30-2:00 pm

Lunch and Announcement of the Finalists

Thank you to all the partipants and congratulations to the finalists. 

Other teams, feel free to stay around to watch the final presentations or explore Baltimore, but be sure to come back for happy hour and networking at the end.

2:00-4:30 PM

Finalist Presentation Round

You made it to the Finals! $5,000 is on the line for 1st, $3,000 for 2nd, and $2,000 for 3rd! Four teams each get 20 minutes to present in front of all six judges and any audience in attendance. The judges are allotted 15 minutes for questions.

4:30-5:30 pM

Announcement of Winners, Post-Event Networking Happy Hour

The epic day comes to a close with three amazing teams walking away with giant checks!

Grab a drink, meet the other teams and talk to the judges.
